The number of operating enterprises with foreign capital amounted 5978 units. In comparison with the previous year the growth in the number of operating enterprises reached 16.0% or 823 units. Of these joint ventures amount to 3314 units, foreign enterprises – 2664 units.
As reported by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, in January-April 2018, the number of newly created enterprises and organizations in the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted 20.7 thousand, which is 2.7 thousand more than in the same period of the last year.
The number of enterprises and organizations that have ceased their activity, as compared to the same period of the last year, decreased by 5.6% and amounted to 5.3 thousand units.
As a result, the number of operating enterprises and organizations has increased by 15.1 thousand (5.3%) since the beginning of the year and amounted to 300.6 thousand.
The largest share of operating enterprises and organizations was observed in Tashkent city (21.2%), Tashkent region (9.5%), Fergana region (8.9%) and Andijan region (8.6%).
