Sanjay Kumar Verma appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Canada

New Delhi, Sep 06 Shri Sanjay Kumar Verma (IFS: 1988), presently Ambassador of India to Japan, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Canada.

He is currently Ambassador of India to Japan.

Ambassador Sanjay Kumar Verma graduated from Patna University and continued his study at IIT Delhi pursuing a Post-Graduate degree of Masters in Physics.  After joining the Indian Foreign Service in 1988, he was stationed at Consulate General of India in Hong Kong and Indian embassies in China, Vietnam and Turkey before being assigned to Milan as the Consul General of India.

Before joining the Ministry of External Affairs as Joint Secretary (Global Estate Management), Mr. Verma was India’s Ambassador to the Republic of the Sudan.  Currently, he is also holding the additional charge of eGovernance & Information Technology and Global Cyber Issues.
