President of India Greets Cambodia on its Independence Day

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the King and people of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the eve of their Independence Day (November 9, 2016).

In a message to His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, the King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I have great pleasure in extending warm greetings to Your Majesty and to the people of Cambodia on the occasion of the anniversary of your Independence.

India and Cambodia have traditionally enjoyed warm and friendly relations – rooted in our historical and cultural linkages and shared interests. Cambodia is an important partner in India’s ‘Act East’ Policy. I am confident that our relations will be further strengthened in the years to come.

I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for Your Majesty’s good health and well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Cambodia”.
