Toronto / New Delhi; 23 August 2022: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who arrived in Canada on Monday met the Indian Diaspora in Toronto en route to Halifax to attend the 65th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference Association.
Speaking on this occasion, Birla said that the Indian Diaspora contributes significantly to the development of Canada while staying rooted to their motherland. He appreciated their dedication to both to their motherland and adopted homeland.
Mentioning that the New India has become the voice of the whole world and other countries are looking at India with hope, Birla said that the youth of the country are playing an important role in progress and development of the country. Whenever there is any challenge or calamity facing the world, the youth have come up with reliable solutions, added Birla.
Referring to aatmanrbhara Bharat, Birla said that there was a time when we were dependent on other countries in many other fields including technology and science. However today in this era of innovation, India is rapidly moving towards self-reliance. In the effort to become a developed nation, India has also kept alive the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. This is the reason that whatever India achieves today, it also shares with everyone.
Further speaking on the role of Diaspora in connecting the two countries, Birla said that they play an important role in strengthening India’s relations with their adopted countries. They love India and make important contributions in taking their adopted countries forward with their best effort.
Birla lauded the Indian Diaspora for celebrating the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on the completion of 75 years of the nation’s independence with gaiety even on foreign soil. Birla said that the tricolor binds all Indians around the world together. In the Amrit Kaal, Indian abroad celebrated Independence Day and made it a global celebration, said Birla.
Earlier on the day, Birla visited Swami Narayan and offered prayers He also vited the temple Museum. Birla said that India’s glorious history and spiritual imprint are visible in the temple architecture.

नई दिल्ली/टोरंटो 23 अगस्त 2022: कनाडा में आयोजित हो रहे राष्ट्रमंडल संसदीय संघ के 65वें सम्मेलन में भाग लेने पहुंचे लोक सभा अध्यक्ष श्री ओम बिरला सोमवार देर रात कनाडा के टोरोंटो में प्रवासी भारतीयों से मिले। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने प्रवासी भारतीयों के योगदान की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि वे अपनी मातृभूमि और कर्मभूमि के प्रति समर्पित रहते हुए बदलते भारत की तस्वीर दुनिया तक पहुंचा रहे हैं।
श्री बिरला ने कहा कि आज भारत सम्पूर्ण विश्व की आवाज बन चुका है। पूरी दुनिया आज भारत को आशा भरी नजरों से देख रही है। हमारे प्रति उनके इस विश्वास का आधार हमारे युवा हैं। विश्व के देशों के सामने जब भी कोई चुनौती या आपदा आती है तो उसका भरोसेमंद और विश्वसनीय समाधान हमारे युवा ही सुझाते हैं। उनकी यह कर्तव्यनिष्ठा हमें उनके सामथ्र्य पर गर्व करने का अवसर देती है।
उन्होंने कहा कि एक समय था जब हम तकनीकी, विज्ञान सहित कई अन्य क्षेत्रों में दूसरे देशों पर निर्भर थे लेकिन अब नवनिर्माण के इस दौर में भारत में आत्मनिर्भरता की ओर तेजी से कदम बढ़ा रहा है। लेकिन विकसित देश बनने की दौड़ में भारत ने वसुधैव कुटुंबकम की भावना को भी जीवंत रखा है। यही कारण है कि आज भारत जो भी हासिल कर रहा है उसको सबके साथ साझा भी कर रहा है।
श्री बिरला ने कहा कि भारत की इस प्रगति को प्रवासी भारतीय दुनिया तक बहुत अच्छे से पहुंचा रहे हैं। आज वे जिस देश मे भी रह रहे है, वहां के संबंध भारत से सशक्त करने में उनकी अहम भूमिका है। वे भारत से भी प्रेम करते हैं और उस देश को भी अपनी श्रेष्ठ कर्मशीलता से आगे ले जाने में उत्कृष्ट योगदान देते हैं।
देश की आजादी के 75 वर्ष पूरे होने पर आजादी के अमृत महोत्सव को विदेशी सरजमीं पर भी उल्लास और उमंग के साथ मनाने के लिए श्री बिरला ने प्रवासी भारतीयों की सराहना की। बिरला ने कहा कि भारतीय दुनिया में जहां भी रहे, तिरंगा हमें एक सूत्र में पिरोता है। अमृतकाल में प्रवासी भारतीयों ने अन्य देशों में भी स्वाधीनता दिवस को एक उत्सव का स्वरूप दिया और वहां के स्थानीय लोगों को शामिल कर इसे एक वैश्विक स्वरूप प्रदान किया।
श्री बिरला ने टोरोंटो में अपने लघु प्रवास के दौरान स्वामी नारायण मंदिर में दर्शन किए। इस दौरान उन्होंने मंदिर परिसर को देखा और वहां के म्यूजियम में भी गए। श्री बिरला ने कहा कि मंदिर की वास्तुकला और म्यूजियम में भारत के गौरवशाली इतिहास और आध्यात्मिक प्रवाह की यात्रा प्रेरणादायक है।
