India, Germany hold foreign office consultations

New Delhi, Oct 20 India and Germany held their annual Foreign Office Consultations here Monday during which both sides discussed, besides other bilateral matters, the Hannover Fair next year and ways to ensure successful participation by India at this major industrial technological fair.

Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh and State Secretary in the German Federal Foreign Office Markus Ederer held the annual Foreign Office Consultations.

The primary focus of discussion was the schedule for high-level activities during 2015, official sources said.

India and Germany will hold the biennial Inter-Governmental Commission meeting in the second half of 2015.

This will be headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The two officials discussed efforts to ensure that the approach to be followed would be of outcome based one with tangible and concrete deliverables, the sources said.

Also India would be participating in the Hannover Fair in 2015 as a partner country. The two sides discussed ways and means to ensure successful participation at this important event.
