Delhi Government and CII Delhi organize a visit to a Government School for the Mayor of Calgary, Canada

A high-level delegation from Canada, led by Mr Naheed Nenshi, Mayor of Calgary, was hosted by Delhi Government and Confederation of Indian Industry for a three-city exploratory visit to discover business and partnership synergy in key areas of investments, tech talent partnership, the entertainment industry, and post-secondary education collaboration.

In their first stop, they met with Mr Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of NCT of Delhi on 3rd March 2020. Mr Sisodia took them to Shaheed Hemu Kalani Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalya, Ring Road, Lajpat Nagar- II, New Delhi to show the improvement in facilities done by them in the past few years. This School is the oldest Government School in Delhi.

Mr Naheed Nenshi, Mayor, Calgary, Canada handles the education portfolio in Calgary, Canada. He said “We had heard a lot of about this Government’s role in uplifting the Education Infrastructure in Delhi and we wanted to come and see it for ourselves and learn from them’

Mr Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, GNCTD welcomed the delegation and said “It is always good when delegations from abroad come and visit our Schools. It is an inspiration for our students as well as they get to interact with people from different cultures.”

Mr Aditya Berlia, Chairman, CII Delhi said “This Delhi Government has done a lot of good work for education in the past few years. It is a proud and happy moment for us when dignitaries from abroad want to come and see the progress and learn from them”
