Confident India-UAE ties will improve : President Mukherjee

New Delhi, Dec 1 President Pranab Mukherjee Monday greeted the government and people of the UAE on the eve of its national day, voicing confidence that bilateral ties will continue to diversify and strengthen in the years to come.

In a message to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Mukherjee said India and the United Arab Emirates have enjoyed close and friendly relations deeply rooted in civilizational links.

“These ties are marked by vibrant people-to-people contacts, mutually beneficial economic and trade engagement and regular high-level exchanges,” he said.

“Under your sagacious and visionary leadership, the UAE has made remarkable progress. We rejoice at UAE’s progress and remain committed to be a reliable partner.

“I am confident our bilateral ties in various spheres will continue to diversify and strengthen in the years to come.”

Mukherjee conveyed his best wishes “for your personal good health and well-being, and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the UAE”.
