Uzbek citizens who have reached 100 years will receive an allowance for pension

February 25, 2015 :   On February 18, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On the State Program” Year of attention and care for the older generation. “

The Program is aimed at increasing of the level and quality of life of senior citizens, strengthening their role in the family and society, the improvement of social and health services, pensions and leisure of the elderly.

Particular attention in the program paid to war veterans and labor front of 1941-1945. A number of privileges and benefits are waiting for them.

According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, they will get free 12 day treatment at a health center, including an annual one-time free trip on the railways.

In addition, veterans will receive financial reward for the Day of Memory and Honor, gifts in the form of modern TV sets, mobile phones, domestic production, as well as many benefits in health care.

At the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan centenarians of Uzbekistan, who have reached the age of 100 years, will have the special allowance of 100% of the minimum wage.

Particular attention and special social packages are waiting for lonely elderly people in the country. The state budget will grant an improved and revised set of essential products with the inclusion of sanitary goods, and special kits, including painkillers and other antihypertensive medications. In order to quick response to requests from this category of citizens, a special “hotline” will be launched.

150,000 elderly people will enjoy a free medical examination. Experienced doctors will leave even the most remote and inaccessible rural areas.

Twofold increase allocated for these purposes of the budget will allow people with disabilities to receive for free 12 thousand units of prosthetic appliances and technical aids for the rehabilitation of high quality.

It should be noted that under the state program will be developed Draft Law “On social services for the elderly, disabled and other categories of the population”, which establishes the basic principles of social services and the general requirements for them.

The draft law will clearly define powers, duties and responsibilities of public, local authorities and other organizations in the area of social services aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens in need of additional social protection.
