TO ORGANIZE THE DAY OF MEMORY AND HONORS AT A DUE LEVEL

In connection with the May 9 national holiday – the Day of Remembrance and Honor, as well as the celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the Victory over fascism in World War II and for the purpose of material encouragement of participants and disabled veterans, a one-time monetary award to veterans of World War II in the amount of 2 million soums.

Presentation of participants and invalids of the Second World War with a one-time monetary compensation will be carried out in a solemn atmosphere on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

With a view to holding high-level events dedicated to the national holiday on May 9 – the Day of Remembrance and Honor, worthy of honoring veterans of the war and the labor front of 1941-1945, as well as families of servicemen and law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in the years of Uzbekistan’s independence, further consolidation in the country of atmosphere of mutual respect, humanity and nobility, education of youth in the spirit of devotion to national traditions and respect for universal values, a decree of the head of state adopted a program for the preparation and holding of events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Honor.

In accordance with this document, representatives of ministries, departments, organizations, institutions, enterprises and military units were assigned to families of servicemen and law enforcement officers who perished in the service during independence years as well as the Second World War and the labor front. Their leaders will visit the places of residence of this category of persons for celebration and congratulations.

Measures will be taken to repair the housing and improve the home economy for single and low-income participants of the Second World War, and those of them who do not have their own housing, a living space will be allocated.

In preparation for the Day of Remembrance and Honor, it is planned to implement a set of measures of spiritual, moral and patriotic directions to explain the persistence, courage and heroism shown by the veterans of the war and the labor front of 1941-1945 among the broad strata of the population, especially youth, and those servicemen and law enforcement officials who died in the execution of service in the years of independence.

In the regions, cities and districts, during the Day of Remembrance and Honor, events will be held related to the installation of compositions from the Second World War, including music, songs of that time, and the re-creation of the corresponding situation.
