Shashi Kant Sharma, C&AG of India takes over as Chairman of the UN Board of Auditors

Shashi Kant Sharma, Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) of India, has taken over the position of the Chairman of the United Nations Board of Auditors on 1st January, 2017, for a period of two years.

As part of Board of Auditors, C&AG of India is the lead auditor for UN Headquarters at New York and some other UN agencies, such as United Nations Children’s Fund( UNICEF), United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF), United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC), International Trade Centre (ITC) and United Nations Office for Projects (UNOPS).  In addition, C&AG also audits six missions of UN Peacekeeping Operations across the world.

Besides being Chairman of the UN Board of Auditors, C&AG of India is the external auditor of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
