DiplomacyIndia had the unique honour to partner with Smt. Rashmi Agarwal, to unveil her latest creations at All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society, New Delhi. Inspired by the world renowned artist Pablo Picasso, Smt. Agarwal is a master in highlighting everyday human activities with her use bold lines, along with radiant and sombre colour palate. When asked about the theme of her paintings, she was quick to point out that her “work focuses on capturing human figures amidst rural, urban and semi urban backgrounds and, not human emotions.” With 20 years of experience under her belt, Smt. Agarwal’s has a uniques skill in merging abstract style with simple forms and figures, this makes her paintings vibrant and enigmatic yet, easy to comprehend.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated by chief guest Honourable Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change, Govt. of India, who also extolled Smt. Agarwal on her work and technique. The event was also attended by respected foreign ambassadors and dignitaries, from Philippines, Taiwan, Cuba, and Venezuela. The guest of honour, her excellency Ambassador of Philippines to India, Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza, admired the paintings on display for their “simple lines and uplifting colours”, she also very keen in noticing that the colours of Smt. Agarwal’s paintings enhanced when appreciated from a distance. Smt. Agarwal’s work was also praised by Mr Chung-kwang Tien head of Taiwan representative office in New Delhi, and Mr Carlos First representative of Venezuelan embassy in India. Cuban Ambassador Oscar Martinez, was honoured to meet Smt. Agarwal and Dr Sharma more so, because this was the first art exhibition he had attended in New Delhi. Ambassador Martinez was also was impressed by Smt. Agarwal’s use of “ multicolour and bright tropical colours” in her paintings.
Smt. Rashmi Agarwal’s paintings are up for display from 29th to 6th September 2017, at All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society, New Delhi.
