While the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi is being welcomed at the G-20 summit in Japan, strategic discussions on skill development between the two countries seem to be taking place in New Delhi. India and Japan have expressed their keen interest in increasing the technical exchanges in the field of skill development. Consequently, India could witness more investment from Japan in the near future. Previously, Japan indicated its ambitions to increase the number of Japanese companies in India, and its will to empower the Indian youth with more technical skills. This development is the foundation of bilateral growth and development between Japan and India is being seen as a major achievement of the Narendra Modi government and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
Japan’s Ambassador H. E. Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu met with the Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, Dr. Mahendranath Pandey on Thursday in New Delhi. The Japanese ambassador congratulated Dr. Pandey for being appointed as the Cabinet Minister. During this meeting, they deliberated discussion on ways to strengthen bilateral relations between India and Japan in the field of skill development. Additionally, the highlights of the discussion also included the proposal of speeding up Technical Internship Training Program (TITP) and implementing the same at a larger scale as the program has the potential to increase employment opportunities for the youth.
