Expo Milano-2015: preparation is in full swing

Posted on April 21, 2015 : The other day at the headquarters of the International Exhibitions Bureau (Bureau International des Expositions, BIE) in Paris held a regular meeting of the Executive Committee of this structure.

Our reference: The Republic of Uzbekistan was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Exhibitions Bureau for two years at the 154th session of the General Assembly of the BIE in November 2013.

During the meeting reports of BIE secretariat and reports of the organizing committees of the host countries for the nearest future upcoming exhibitions were heard.

At the meeting focused on preparations for the World’s Fair Expo Milano-2015 in Milan, which will be held under the theme “Feeding the planet. Energy for life”.

Announced that the official opening of the exhibition will be held on May 1, 2015 with the participation of the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

According to representatives of the organizing committee of Expo Milano-2015, the number of countries participating in the exhibition has reached 140. At the moment, built 54 individual pavilions, and there are 80 group members.

Over the next 6 months of the exhibition is scheduled for 114 days of national countries participating in the event. Is also expected to visit 50 foreign heads of state and government.

During the exhibition it is expected that it will visit from 12 to 14 million. Inhabitants of Italy, from 2.7 to 3.6 million citizens of Europe, as well as about 2 million. Guests from other countries.

Recall that the Republic of Uzbekistan will take part in the World Fair with its national pavilion. An area of 500 square meters is allocated for it, where will be organized four sections – “Economy”, “Agriculture”, “Food Industry”, “Culture and national dishes”. Uzbek pavilion, which will differ with national colors, of course, its design and content will attract the attention of participants.

Taking a stand of Uzbekistan at Expo Milano 2015, guests of the event will be acquainted with the rich cultural and historical heritage of our people, the achievements of the country within the independence period, its economic and investment potential. However, the pavilion will present opportunities of the republic in the agricultural sector, particularly in the spheres of harvesting agricultural products processing industry, grain production, animal husbandry, horticulture, poultry, aquaculture, as well as the use of modern techniques and technologies. Separate place will take the national Uzbek cuisine, bakery and confectionery products, prepared in accordance with the customs and traditions of Uzbek people.

Undoubtedly, the World’s Fair Expo Milano-2015 will provide ample opportunities to domestic companies and enterprises to establish trade and economic cooperation with foreign businesses, expand existing relationships, reaching agreements on exports of goods and services, investment in our country, the development and practical implementation of promising projects.
