Egypt participates in the 52nd Annual Meeting of African Development Bank in Ahmedabad- India

Egypt’s Ambassador highlighted that holding the annual meeting of the AfDB in a country outside Africa signals the importance of deepening economic relations between Africa and India. “We share historical relations solidified centuries ago through people-to- people contact. In recent history, these relations developed into a political synergy and common struggle against colonization.

In 2008, the historic relations transformed into a structured partnership in the form of the India- Africa Forum Summit (IAFS), which had its third summit in New Delhi in October 2015” Tageldin said.

He added that Egypt is committed to contributing to Africa’s efforts to achieve sustainable development and economic growth. India and Africa can substantially benefit from each other in the area of agriculture and rural development, management of water resources, technology and innovation and renewable energy, Ambassador stated.
