Denmark India to work in health sector, FM Jaishankar meets Danish FM Jeppe Kofod

Copenhegan, Sep 05 Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar was received by Her Majesty, Queen Margrethe II in Copenhagen today, this is the first visit of Indian Foreign Minister after a gap of 20 years.

Indian Foreign Minister on a visit to Denmark also met his counterpart Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod to discuss bilateral issues including cooperation in the health sector. The minister also thanked the Denmark for its cooperation during the covid pandemic.

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is on a 3 nations visit to Slovenia, Croatia and Denmark.

India Denmark has devised a joint action plan for the next five years, under the Joint Commission there are 10 working groups and 11th one, on health sector has been added.

Both the foreign ministers discussed the prospects for the development of relations while chairing the India-Denmark Joint Commission meeting.

Indian Foreign Minister also met the CEO’s of Danish companies like Vestas, Grundfos, CIP, Haldor Topsoe and Maersk and Chamber representatives which has made it possible under the ‘Green Strategic Partnership’. Minister also mentioned that “what’s unique about our relationship with Denmark is that Denmark is the only country with which we have a green strategic partnership.” There are 200 Danish companies operating in India.
