President of India Greets Uganda on its Independence Day

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and the people of the Republic of Uganda on the eve of their Independence Day (October 9, 2016).

In a message to His Excellency Mr. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda,the President has said, “On behalf of the Government and the people of India, and on my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to convey to you, the Government and the people of Uganda warm greetings on the occasion of your 55th Independence Day.

India and Uganda enjoy a long standing friendly relationship strengthened by our close cooperation and mutual understanding. I am confident that our fruitful partnership will be further enhanced in the coming years to the mutual benefit of the people of our two countries.

Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your personal health and well being, and the continued progress and prosperity of Uganda”.
