MOU signed for collaborative heritage work with Australia in Rajasthan

New Delhi, March 03: AusHeritage, Australia’s network of cultural heritage management organisations, and PDCOR Limited, a JV of Government of Rajasthan, India signed an MoU today for collaboration in the area of Heritage.
The MoU was signed on the side line of a workshop with AusHeritage for preparing the Jaipur special area heritage plan. The workshop is organised by the Jaipur Development Authority, Nagar Nigam Jaipur (Heritage), Jaipur Smart City Limited, and facilitated by PDCOR Limited.
The MoU on heritage cooperation was signed by the Chairman of AusHeritage, Vinod Daniel, and CE0 of PDCOR, Dileep Kumar Chingapurath. Mr. Vijay Singh Shekhawat, Director (Trade & Investments), Austrade was present.
 Mr Daniel is leading a five-member AusHeritage delegation to the state that comprises David Gole, Alexandra Marsden, Sharon Veale, and Roger Beeston.
Vinod Daniel said “AusHeritage has had over two decades of collaborations with India and it is a delight to be part of the workshop on preparing the Jaipur special area heritage plan as well as sign the MOU with PDCOR on heritage cooperation.”
“Previous AusHeritage projects have included developing a master plan for Kamaraj House in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, assistance for the Tagore Museum in Shantiniketan, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum as well as several capacity building workshops on heritage across India. AusHeritage also has an MoU with INTACH,” Mr Daniel added.
The Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Government of Rajasthan and Chairman PDCOR, Mr. Akhil Arora said, “we are delighted that AusHeritage and PDCOR could sign the MoU that would benefit both India and Australia, including sharing best practice approaches and knowledge on current technologies and approaches for managing and protecting cultural heritage.”
