The meeting aimed to deepen the understanding of the bilateral relationship between India and Indonesia, identifying areas for cooperation where both nations share commonalities. The discussions delved deep into the historical background in the context of culture, diplomatic relations, independence movements and trade industry.

The WIF delegation, comprising Basant Gupta (Director), Ms. Hemangi Sinha (Project Head), Pravin Kumar Singh (Sr. Project Associate) and Kunal Singh (Sr. Project Associate), engaged in interactive discussions with the Indonesian Embassy delegation, comprising Dadang Hidayat (Minister Counsellor), Musoni (First Secretary, Political Affairs), Haidi Nur Hashfi (First Secretary, Political Affairs) and Yoga Mahardika, (Third Secretary, Political Affairs).

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing enthusiasm for future collaborations, including joint conferences and research initiatives, policy projects, and cultural exchanges. As Dadang Hidayat aptly put it, “We are in the 75th year of India-Indonesia diplomatic relations, so we could collaborate on those aspects, celebrating the bilateral ties”. This sentiment resonates with the spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding that underpins the concept of mixed representation.

Hemangi Sinha added, “As a proud citizen of India’s robust democracy, I’m excited to collaborate with the Embassy of Indonesia on cultural and educational cooperations, building on our shared rich heritage and the success of the India-Indonesia Cultural Exchange Programme, which has drawn over 400,000 Indian tourists to Indonesia in 2023”. WIF looks forward to continued cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy, strengthening the enduring partnership between India and Indonesia.
