Venkaiah Naidu set to embark on overseas tour of Malaysia and Singapore

Hyderabad, Thursday, October 13, 2022: Former Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu is scheduled to embark on a six-day tour of Malaysia and Singapore tomorrow. Naidu will attend a ‘Meet and Greet’ Reception on Friday hosted by the Telugu Association of Malaysia at which senior government officials and prominent members of the Indian and Telugu diaspora would be present.

Earlier in the afternoon, Naidu will also be attending a Special Lunch hosted by B.N. Reddy, High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, in his honour. The former Vice President of India is scheduled to attend a community event hosted by the Telugu diaspora in Malaysia, ‘An Evening with M. Venkaiah Naidu, former Vice President of India’ on Saturday evening hosted by Telugu Assocation of Malaysia Telugu Association of Malaysia (TAM) is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation of the people of Telugu origin residing in Malaysia to safeguard cultural identity, heritage and preserve the Telugu language, Telugu Association of Malaysia has todate established 30 branches nationwide and currently represents approximately 500,000 Telugus in Malaysia.

He will also visit the Telugu Saamskruthika Nilayam , Telugu Academy of Malaysia in Rawang .

The former Vice President of India will then proceed to Singapore where he is scheduled to attend the 2nd Anniversary celebrations of “Sri Samkruthika Kalasaradhi, Singapore”.

“Sri Samkruthika Kalasaradhi, Singapore” was instituted in July 2020, with the intention of promoting and encouraging the development of Telugu culture, literature, and fine arts in Singapore on 16th evening .

He will deliver a Lecture as a Guest of Honour as part of the GIIS Leadership Lecture Series, at Global Indian International School Smart Campus on Monday, October 17.

The Global Schools Foundation is reputed to be a Singapore founded community-oriented school education institution, which seeks to shape young minds into global leaders of the future.

Former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, first Prime Minister of Singapore Mr Lee Kuan Yew, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr Tony Blair, Infosys founder and GSF patron Dr NR Narayana Murthy are among some of the distinguished set of speakers who have delivered a special lecture in the GIIS Leadership Lecture Series in the past.

On completion of his tour, Naidu will return on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
