New Delhi, 17 December 2018: Welcoming the Parliamentary Delegation from Zambia led by Rt. Hon’ble Justice Dr. Patrick Matibini, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zambia in Parliament House today, Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan said that India and Zambia have historically enjoyed warm, friendly and cordial relations based on common values such as commitment to democracy and rule of law. She noted that both the countries have always stood together with each other and expressed the hope that the visit of the delegation would further strengthen and expand the existing bilateral cooperation.
Smt. Mahajan thanked Zambia for supporting India in multi-lateral forums like UN, Security Council, ITU and other organisations. She observed that India is always keen to participate and contribute to the development of Zambia.
Recalling that the first President of Zambia Dr. Kenneth Kaunda was a great friend of India, Smt. Mahajan remarked that he was inspired by the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. Smt. Mahajan expressed satisfaction that the officials from the National Assembly of Zambia are benefitting from the training in the BPST under ITEC programme and informed the Delegation that the Speaker’s Research Initiative (SRI) has been set up in the Parliament. She suggested that young students from Zambia may participate in the one and three months internship programmes of SRI to familiarize themselves with the functioning of the Indian Parliament.
In response, Rt. Hon’ble Justice Dr. Patrick Matibini thanked Lok Sabha Speaker for the excellent hospitality extended to his Delegation and hoped that ties between India and Zambia would be further strengthened in times to come.
भारत और ज़ाम्बिया के संबंध ऐतिहासिक रूप से घनिष्ठ , मित्रतापूर्ण और सौहार्दपूर्ण रहे हैं: लोक सभा अध्यक्ष
नई दिल्ली, 17 दिसम्बर, 2018ः आज संसद भवन में ज़ाम्बिया गणराज्य की नेशनल असेम्बली के स्पीकर माननीयन्यायमूर्ति डॉ. पैट्रिक मटिबिनी के नेतृत्व में ज़ाम्बिया से आये संसदीय शिष्टमंडल का स्वागत करते हुए, लोक सभाअध्यक्ष, श्रीमती सुमित्रा महाजन ने कहा कि भारत और ज़ाम्बिया के संबंध ऐतिहासिक रूप से घनिष्ठ, मित्रतापूर्ण औरसौहार्दपूर्ण रहे हैं जो कि लोकतंत्र के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता और कानून के शासन के साझे मूल्यों पर आधारित हैं । उन्होंने इसबात का उल्लेख किया कि दोनों देशों ने सदैव एक–दूसरे का साथ दिया है और यह आशा व्यक्त की कि इस शिष्टमंडल केदौरे से दोनों देशों के वर्तमान द्विपक्षीय संबंध और अधिक प्रगाढ़ होंगे और इनका विस्तार होगा ।
श्रीमती महाजन ने बहु–पक्षीय मंचों जैसे संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद, आई.टी.यू. और अन्य संगठनों में भारत कासमर्थन करने के लिए ज़ाम्बिया को धन्यवाद दिया । उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि भारत ज़ाम्बिया के विकास में सहभागिताकरने और उसमें योगदान करने हेतु सदैव इच्छुक रहा है ।
भारत के सच्चे मित्र ज़ाम्बिया के प्रथम राष्ट्रपति डॉ. केन्नेथ कौण्डा का स्मरण करते हुए श्रीमती महाजन ने कहा किवे महात्मा गांधी की शिक्षाओं से प्रेरित थे । श्रीमती महाजन ने इस बात पर संतोष जताया कि ज़ाम्बिया की नेशनलअसेम्बली के अधिकारीगण आईटीईसी कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत बीपीएसटी में प्रशिक्षण से लाभ प्राप्त कर रहे हैं और शिष्टमंडलको यह सूचित किया कि संसद में अध्यक्षीय शोध कदम (अशोक) की स्थापना की गई है और इस बात का सुझाव दिया किभारतीय संसद के संसदीय कार्यकरण से परिचित होने के लिए ज़ाम्बिया के युवा छात्र अध्यक्षीय शोध कदम के एक महीनेऔर तीन महीनों के प्रशिक्षुता कार्यक्रमों में भाग ले सकते हैं ।
प्रत्युत्तर में, माननीय न्यायमूर्ति डॉ. पैट्रिक मटिबिनी ने उनके शिष्टमंडल को प्रदान किए गए उत्कृष्ट आतिथ्य–सत्कार के लिए लोक सभा अध्यक्ष को धन्यवाद दिया और आशा व्यक्त की कि भविष्य में भारत और जाम्बिया केद्विपक्षीय संबंधों में और अधिक मजबूती आएगी ।
