President of India to witness show by SAARC music bands

New Delhi, Nov 3 President Pranab Mukherjee will witness a performance of music bands from three SAARC countries – Zebunissa Bangash from Pakistan, Chirkutt from Bangladesh and Mrigya from India – Nov 5 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

This concert is a curtain-raiser for the eighth edition of the South Asian Bands Festival being held at Purana Qila Nov 7-9.

The festival, organised by Seher in collaboration with the external affairs ministry and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), brings together all SAARC countries and one guest country on one platform.

The objective of the festival is to spread the message of harmony and unity amongst people of the South Asian region.

The concert at Rashtrapati Bhavan auditorium will feature the three bands playing separately and at the end coming together in a unique collaborative concert as a symbolic gesture of unity, harmony and friendship amongst the SAARC nations.
