Joint statement between the Hokimiyat of the Andijan Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Ministry of Chemical Indutry and Fertilizers of the Republic of India

Hokimiyat of the Andijan region and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers of India, Being guided by the positions of the Joint Statement on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of India of 18 May 2011, as well as other bilateral treaties of which the Sides are parties,  intending to establish closer economic relations between the two countries by strengthening cooperation on the production of pharmaceutical and medical products.

Have agreed to the following:

The Sides will develop cooperation in the implementation of the program in the production of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical products and medical equipment in the Andijan region of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the principles of equality and mutual benefit.

The Sides agreed to work together in principle on the issue of creating an Uzbek-Indian free pharmaceutical zone on the territory of the Andijan region of the Republic of Uzbekistan and start joint development of a business plan for this project.

The Sides agreed to cooperate on:

Working together on the issue of attracting direct investments of Indian companies and Uzbek investors to create modern production facilities for the production of pharmaceutical products and medicines with high value added, primarily on the basis of medicinal substances and medicinal plant raw materials, produced, but not limited, on created plantations in the Republic of Uzbekistan;

Creation of new modern productions and capacities for the processing of medicinal plant raw materials and the production of medicines, medical products, auxiliary and packaging materials.
